This year we are pleased to welcome one African and two Asian elephants in an exciting but tender presentation. Our African elephant (with the tusks) is called Sonja. Her mother was shot in an elephant cull due to overpopulation and was sold by the game park to raise capital for the running of the park. Our Indian elephants, Delhi and Vana Mana were born on a lumber camp in Burma and sold when weaned to an animal dealer to supplement the shrinking income of the camp as logging decreased. The animals are now great ambassadors for the species entertaining and educating the public within the care and security of the circus to protect them.

We hope you enjoy seeing our family of beautiful animals as much as we do. Travelling with us are Lions, Tigers, Horses, Ponies, Llamas, Reindeer  and Camels. The Great British Circus is a member of the European Circus Association and we adhere to their code of conduct which can be viewed on their website.

Our beautiful TIGERS are the 9th generation we have bred. Martin Lacey is proud to present his tigers in the big cage in the 2009 touring show and introduce TIARA our lovely WHITE TIGER. When on tour the big cats have access to a large exercise cage. Here you see the group in the ring as a Perfect Pyramid. One of our original tigers was rescued from a back garden in Birmingham. Our other original tigers came from Belle Vue Zoo, Manchester, when it was closed and John Aspinall's Howletts Zoo. We have established an important gene bank with our CAMELS and have a successful breeding programme. The gestation period is long - 440 days!

A note about ANIMAL CARE - The Great British Circus provides the best and most practical accommodation for our animals. We construct purpose built, state of the art, travelling accommodation, and ensure all our livestock is gently and patiently trained using positive reinforcement. We ensure the animals' diet is wholesome, varied and nutritious. With a network of four experienced veterinary surgeons, blanket health care is possible around the country. STARS of FILM, STAGE AND SCREEN! Our lovely animals are available for Natural History and Educational film work, Commercials, Photo Shoots and Personal Appearances. Our Big Top quickly transforms into a studio!
