The Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) is a training scheme run by Southend Teacher Training Partnership Limited (STTP). The Partnership - an Accredited Training Provider approved by the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) - is a consortium of schools, working with South East Essex College and the Local Authority. Drawing upon many years of experience of training Primary and Secondary teachers, they have established a good track record with more than 150 colleagues entering the profession through the GTP since 2003.

The North East Essex Coastal Confederation Initial Teacher Training (NEECC) offer both SCITT and GTP initial teacher training schemes. Working with 6 Secondary Schools and Colleges in the North East of Essex their 2003 Ofsted reported that: 'The quality of training is good or very good and in some aspects outstanding'.

The Mid Essex ITT Consortium offers both SCITT and GTP initial teacher training schemes working with 12 secondary schools in the area.
The Mid Essex SCITT programme offers Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Professional Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) verified by the University of Greenwich. All 12 schools are highly committed to the scheme and provide an excellent base to begin your professional career.
